For $65 the Leatherman Skeletool CX might give you all the things you might need on a daily basis.
Pliers, wire cutters, crimps, a 154cm steel blade, phillips and flathead bits that are interchangeable with the Leatherman bit driver system, and last but not least, a bottle opener (which I forgot to show you in the video, the carabiner clip contacts it)

All this serious multi-tool firepower comes in a package that is compact and light enough, to ride on a pocket clip and be there when you need it. and at the end of the day it just looks COOL! I've carried the thing for over a year and I still haven't tired of that skeleton look.

Ps the aluminum handled version can be had for about $55 but it comes with a yucky 420hc blade.

All things considered 8.9/10 (only marked down because the secondary bit retention is lacking)

  • All multitools seem to have a blade...which makes tons of sense. Although isn't it illegal to walk around with a knife like that in the US? I just got a leatherman wave and I'm scared to carry it with me because I'm not even sure if its legal to walk around with a blade like that.I don't need it for work or anything but it does seem like something nice to carry around for those :just in case situations. Can anyone tell me the legality of this?

  • @Degr8n8 Hey, locking knife blades under 3" in legnth are legal to carry in almost all states. Where do you live?

  • @GadgetsNGear Arizona

  • @Degr8n8 Dude you are good to go, make sure it isn't a switchblade and you are golden. (this is not legal advice, do your own research)

  • all my folding tools get so dirty I think this one would be the worst for that.

    And also no scissors?

  • @ronmann606

I wear 5.11 taclitepro's which have a dedicated pocket for a MT, so it doesn't collect much crud. It would be nice if it had scisors but you can't get something for nothing, and I would rather not deal with the extra bulk they would add to this tool.

Besides if your primary knife (two knife system) is sharp enough you don't need scisors =)

  • skeletool needs scissors. Then it would be a pretty awesome Multi-Tool.

  • Not as dissapointed now, moved on..but I wish the one I had worked as well as yours, I would have gladly kept it in my work bag but not on a belt . Aftr Zyhano's excellent review I'll go Charge Ti or Skeletool. I like being able to strip down all my tools/gear after heavy use. Gotta be spot on though,as I carry F1, S4 squirt and lil'CRKT 5560 in my pack and keep CS Lawman on me. Being able to work disgarded wire is a bonus when trekking. Off to the shed now ;)

  • @tessl8d i didn't say there is anything false about the fault, weight or subsequant refund. you said "useless piece of crap" and i disagree that victorinox makes a useless piece of crap. that's all. if you like leatherman i would have to say that their charge, wave, surge, and supertool 300 models are all about 8 oz+. i have the charge ti and it seems nice. hope you find a good one.

  • @prometheus19799791

I've owned Victorinox tools before and they have been great, but this one in particular had play in the pliers and was therefore useless to me. Victorinox got back to me within 24hrs and quickly advised me that the item needed to be returned. My initial review was accurate and included all the items being weighed on digital scales, there is nothing false about the fault, weight or subsequant refund. Thanks.

  • @tessl8d i have 2 leathermans made with press studs. i'm not saying i don't like leatherman, in fact i quite like them but, i think you are mistaken when you say swisstools are crap as myself and many other people would agree that your statement is false.

  • Just checked my vid and..... Victorinox Spirit Plus with leather pouch weighs: 13.3 oz

10,7oz with ratchet, extender and bits in red plastic holder, (but without pouch).

7.5 oz by itself. Happy, if other peoples are great, I got a dud one and then the refund, so won't be going there again.

  • @prometheus19799791

Guess I will have to dig up my original review, withdrawn because I gave the seller and Victorinox the benefit of doubt as a refund and an explanation were provided. The Spirit Plus has a ratchet, extender and bits+ leather sheath: 5.7oz, no way it's 13.3 0z, don't read the blurbs, go buy one and weight it. Also constructed with press studs not hex head screws like the Leatherman. Still considering which Leatherman to buy. Thanx.

  • @Degr8n8 dude it is awesome in colorado i can carry a switchblade over 3'' legally

  • @tessl8d i call bullshit. swisstools are precision made and are far superior to other multi tools as far as durability goes.
