All three members of the Hex Series of analog synths & effects from Abstract Data running though their paces.

The only external audio sources used in this clip are a 100Hz Sine wave used as one input to Synthex and one input to Morphex and the percussion track you can hear in the background - which was also used as the rhythmic trigger input for Graphex to generate the chopping/gating effect.

Synthex is fed into Morphex which is fed into Graphex - no effects or processing.

Enjoy - and feel free to PM me for more info!

  • brill!!! I had an idea to build this in to a guitar can it be fitted with a by-pass switch?

  • @MegaElboy

Hmmm - a bypass switch on these would be tough because there's 3 different units working here.

Not impossible - but not easy.

There's a few guitarists using these now and getting good results without a bypass - if you're adventurous!

  • Is this for real..?

  • @noddyspuncture

Do you mean: Is this really a video of me making real music with 3 real analog synths that I really designed & built myself?

    Yup - it's for real.

Check out some of the other videos and my website for more info if you're not convinced!

    Cheers - J

YT is having some 'comments' problems - so I'm posting this reply again.

Synthex is fed by two 100Hz Test Tones - no effects or modulation - so Synthex is basically your oscillator.

Morphex is being fed by one of the Test Tones and the output of Synthex.

Graphex is using the beats you can hear as an audio 'trigger' to gate the output of Morphex.

It's a very simple little set up - and all these takes were done pretty much live.
