I own a 84 firebird SE its a fun car but I don't think GM expected any of them to stay on the road very long because the odometer only goes up to 9999 and then it zeroes out because it doesn't have a 100,000 mile slot.
@blkfreedom03 You'll get a kick outta this: I just checked my original 1984 Pontiac dealer catalog and yes, the Turbo wheels were still available along with the all-new Hi Tech cast aluminum wheels. The Aero Turbo Aluminum wheels were standard with the Hi Tech Cast Aluminum wheels being an option available only on Aero package Trans Ams. And to correct a previous statement made by me on this video, I prefer the Hi Tech wheels but I love the Turbo ones as well.
@FirebirdDude I thought the turbo wheels with caps ended in 1983? I always thought the Turbo wheels from 1980-1981 would have fit the early early Third gens more appropriately.
@sirbuick It was because they were designed for the lowest possible air resistance to help the Firebird go faster while being lightweight. The "bowling ball" hubcaps from '82-'84 were more aerodynamic however, but these turbo aluminum wheels are my favorite design of all time!
O M G!!!!! THIS IS MY DREAM CAR!!!! I never knew they had a commercial for the '84 model year Firebird...especially one that's black and gold with all the goodies! One day I'll own one......can't wait......... : D Thank you SOOOO much for posting!!
