This is a song we played every Christmas. My dad loved this album. I was asked to sign this for a hearing audience, so it is not ASL. Hopefully mostly conceptually accurate, They asked me to go to each side so the choir behind me could see it. Enjoy.
Here are the lyrics in case you can't understand the Caribbean accent:
Christmas in de Tropics:
When I was a child I do believe we decorated the house on Christmas eve. With trinkets and tropical fruit for you see, in the islands we had not a Christmas tree.
Sing -- Sing Christo, Sing -- Sing Christo, Sing- Sing Christo. It's Christmas in de Tropics!
The stockings were hung on the bedpost tree for nobody on the island had a chimney. When all of our chirstmas prayers were said then off we would go to be tucked in the bed. We go to church early on Christmas morn to hear how the holy child was born
Every body was solemn to a fine degree until the Vikor pronounce the doxology!
Sing -- Sing Christo, Sing -- Sing Christo, Sing- Sing Christo. It's Christmas in de Tropics!
The people come from far and near with rice and pea and ginger beer
Then we shake the hand of we fellow man and wish all the happiness we can
Every come down to the market place. All the gal dress up in their silk and lace. We'll calypso sing by the mandolin when its Christmas day in the Caribbean!
Sing -- Sing Christo, Sing -- Sing Christo, Sing- Sing Christo. It's Christmas in de Tropics!
The market place it look mighty fine with decoration of many king
The concert band will play many a tune then the fireworks come in the afternoon
The rum and coconut water flow among the rich and the poor, the high and low.
Old Santa Claus he look mighty cute in he Panama hat and white linen suit!
Sing -- Sing Christo, Sing -- Sing Christo, Sing- Sing Christo. It's Christmas in de Tropics!
It's Meg, from class- Super cute! (Love the hair, by the way!!!)
