Lot of truth to this for sure. As a director for a TAPS family team out of Canada. I can say that we don't know if they exist at all. I only use such instruments as a point of interest. Never make a claim based on it either. Certain readings may point out extreme sources of EMF in the home in the base reads more for their other symptoms not ghosts. Pics, not a chance.. dust mostly. EVP, under controlled enviro maybe. But TV is TV for sure.

I'm so confused. Why does someone explain how a staged show's methods are not working for something that this certain someone has no valid information about to begin with.
PS: I really enjoy watching Ghost Adventures. It's fun.

although I agree with most of what you say and you cant trust most of what you see on tv I have to ask the question have you yourself been on many investigations? because any seasoned ghost hunter will tell you yes you have to go scientifically about your findings and using the equipment but there are experiences and evidence caught that just can not be explained away by science its ok to be skeptical we are too but people have discovered this and its always a great day to go ghost hunting

just because ghosts do not have any "KNOWN" properties, does not rule out the fact that they could INFACT have physical properties.
-
in fact this video only tells us how much we dont know so there is no real valid conclussion

Very well put. Some of the shows are fun to watch (ie Ghost Adventures) but the people on them are obviously scientifically illiterate. Best leave the putatively paranormal to trained parapsychologists.

@TheKronicBabe at least he backs up his claim with evidence. What do you use? insults, practically meaningless in science's mind.

Somebody once wrote something interesting after being accused of being "Close minded"
"So don't focus on buzzword labels like "closed minded" or "true believer". You can be both of those things and still be able to properly analyze evidence and draw a supported conclusion. You can also be guilty of neither fault, and yet be unable to distinguish a well-supported conclusion from mountains of poor evidence."
Good episode of Skeptoid. Perhaps some more people should listen to it.

Hey i saw first you " Science's Worshipper"... no offence.. :p ask science plz why u research no ghosts when they have no property ,, how u came to know about them :P oh scientific method...

This man is not a skeptic, he is a close minded fool. His other videos (organic farming, pacific trash island, etc) show that he does not embrace facts at all, but is actually willing to skew them in order to embrace the commonly perceived "skeptical" view that is held by most skeptics. Being skeptical is fine, but financially preying on skeptics with erroneous opinions poorly disguised as facts, is disgusting.
It has been quite evident from exiting show participants, that Ghost Hunters is staged. In fact, at first, they were left to their own devices. But now, they even have a "staging crew" that arrives before the production crew, to "set things up". I am so glad that someone has finally pointed out the miss-use of the instruments on that show. I used an IR thermometer for years doing Heat and Air work, and the beam simply registers the temp of a surface...NOT open air. Ghost hunters is bunk!
