muy bonita la novela!!!!!!

You know what, i kinda agree...
I mean, the dub is alright... it's just that, Gabriela Spanic just does it with such passion... The quality of her voice is just something that is adapted by the novela you know? There IS a reason why they picked her to play Cielo. And the strong sometimes raspy tone of Spanic gives it more edge, compared to the dub which is a bit more mellow.
But then, yeah for the sake of understanding what they say, it's all good. ^.^ I'm just lucky I speak both languages!

I concur!
after all, there's no such thing as a verbatim translation of language to another language, because, simply, each language has its own structure that differs from the others... take for example the way Korean, English and Filipino differ... Koreans are more of pronunciation and meaning based, a very different way to the American way (subject-verb-object) and Filipino structure (verb-subject-object)... that's the reason why Filipinos can adopt a foreign language more easily than Koreans

Anything dubbed doesn't have to be straight literal as long as the message of each scene of every telenovela would spread across to all audiences watching it from every part of the globe as long.
A big factor as well is if the voice actors gives due justice to the characters they portray as they are being presented to their audiences, not necessarily they need to duplicate exactly the voice of the real actors. Same thing when Digimon was dubbed into multiple languages including Spanish.

Claps to that. I've seen comments on tagalized telenovelas that got uploaded here with the same harsh comments about them being dubbed.
It's unfair for them to say such things considering the only reason for it being dubbed is for the viewers who are watching the show abroad could understand it.

Too bad that you don't speak spanish! You don't know what you're missing with their original voices and interpretations. Cielo loses all her strength with this lousy voice that they gave her.

cute ng story nito... sana ipalabas ulit
Why? Can you speak Filipino? The voice of Cielo here is okay 4 me, it's not lousy (but that's your opinion anyway...)... I can understand Spanish & even have DVDs of some telenovelas in their original language, and I know that the original voice is somehow better, but the dubbed version isn't necessarily lousy...
I love Gaby Spanic, even have the La Usurpadora DVD, but the dubber's voice here is more feminine yet strong & I simply love the dubbing...
to each, his own, anyway... :p

Well, the voice of Cielo could've been done better... But Marco's voice is just SPOT ON! Seriously...
He has the exact same voice as the actor, Saul Lisazo... It's a bit freaky actually... o.O
