@LadyLillianContessa For sure! In all my visits here since the 70s, I've never been this close to so large a lion in the wild. I could literally have touched him! :-o

When I was small my dad was stationed in the Gir Jungles in Gujrat (India). There we used to be literally 10ft from the lions all the time in an unprotected jeep. Used to be alert at night cause the leopards used to hunt at night. I was too little to member most of it. Pity.

Once he had decided there was nothing for dinner, he walked to the other side of our vehicle and lay down. Then his buddy came over. He ignored us and also lay down. They were watching a herd of impala, but we couldn't hang around anymore as we had to go and get a change of underwear :-)

What happened? Did he just walk off after a while?

@Jorben84 Yes, once he was happy there was no more to worry about, he lumbered off and lay down about 20metres from us and we were able to breathe sighs of relief all round!
