PAUL MCCARTNEY PRESS.

"Press" is a 1986 single by Paul McCartney also featured on the album Press to Play. "It's Not True" was featured as the B-side.

Various issues in the U.K. include two 7" singles ("Press" and "Press-video edit"), a 10" single in a special fold-out sleeve and two 12" singles. In the U.K. a Hugh Padgham mix and edit of "Press" was released on the single, but was quickly withdrawn and replaced with the preferred Bevans/Forward mix.

Though hitting the Top 30 in both the U.S. and U.K., "Press" was not a successful single and marked the beginning of a downturn of McCartney's fortunes on the singles chart. Namely, it was the first time since "Back To the Egg" in 1979 that a lead single from a McCartney album failed to hit the Top 20. This may have been because "Press" did not fit neatly into album-oriented rock or adult-contemporary radio formats popular at the time.

  • lazy lyrics on this one...

    "very very very much" "Really"

--you're in trouble when you get four adverbs in the first couple lines

"Oklahoma was never like this" ???

-- that just sounds like a line that he used to use to fill in space till he found something better.

  • @panhandleman2 i agree and even though i love the song Press, the lyrics are to me just thrown together with any real meaning behind the song,i always wondered what the hell "Oklahoma was never like this"was all about.

  • i never saw man beauty till i saw paul mccartney

  • I'm sure Paul wrote this about some of his personal thoughts and that's why it's not very understandable to other people.

  • @TheBeatlesYears2 I love his talent for melodies, but I think he cared less about lyrics with every record. (with the exception of Chaos and creation")

  • The more I watch this the more I like it!

  • He's too cute in this vid and seems to be having a good time. Fun to watch and hear!

  • He is too cute.

How are the people on that subway sitting still!!???

IF PAUL MCCARTNEY WAS ON MY SUBWAY I WOULD DIE.

  • it should be summer of 86. no one was wearing jackets or coats...

  • Paul defies age. In 1986, he's 44 and going gray. I just saw him in August and he's perfectly dark haired.

    Magic!

  • very good!! excellent video quality
