Abbey reminds me of turn 3 in Brazil in 2003. Even the best drivers were going off there.

@gurujem They did so up until the first lap catastrophe at the 1998 Belgian Grand Prix.

Nowadays they would start the race behind the Safety Car until some of the standing water had been dispersed. Far more sensible.

Conditions must've been REALLY bad for Lauda and Peterson to go off like that !
