A discharge of his resistance might have been good, by saying the world, "don't" while he was counting down, since he seemed resistant in my opinion. For instance, "if you DON'T want to relax, you probably will anyway because ... as you just keep counting you relax ..." The word Don't provides a catalyst, just by saying it. It was a big belief of Erickson that this had to be done anytime resistance was encountered. And it's easy, of course, just like all hypnosis. Hypnotherapy is the real art.

Amazingdom, nice job with Elman, good explanation of hypnosis.

People can have "abreactions" but that doesn't mean you caused it. People also have very vivid and terrifying dreams. Who is to blame?

I had a great subject one time, a college recruiter, we were speaking to high school students. she did everything i suggested beautifully except forgetting her name. (it was too important to her that people know who she was / represented)
