This is my first Matchmoving test.
I always knew how to do it in theory, just didn't have the time or the will, up until now. ;P

Decided to play around with FumeFX while I was at it, and very basic modeling/texturing of that little "crater".

I was more aiming for the look of a melted asphalt, rather than a crater.
Could have been done much better but I rushed through the process and finished it all in 4-5 hours or so.

The lighting also could have been better. That's something I'll need to do research about so next time I can get it right.

All in all it was fun to do. Will probably more something more advanced when I get the time. ^_^

P.S.

Much thanks to Videocopilot.net for the Matchmoving tutorial and the stock footage!

Oh and, watch in 720p. =P

  • You forgot to clean your tracking markers :p

  • @xMemn0nx

I didn't see a reason to clean the markers since this was merely a tracking practice.

It's not like it's going to feature anywhere... I just thought I'd share that little test. =P

When I'll have time to make a serious short movie, I'll make sure to get rid of every tracking markers I have. ^_^

  • great job. the ambient light is belieavable

  • great like it !

  • What I would like to know is what hardware and software did you use to create this? And is this FumeFX program accelerated by Nvidia GPU's? That would be great. I can't wait to finally get another job and have some money and time to put into work like this. Very good short video. Very impressive.

  • Mr. Krames footage ?
