PRECISELY! TODAY'S so-called "country music" is pure drivel for the most part.

@krogmank Indeed.

@alphakid42 - Well said. I saw Boggus at a little offbeat club just outside Pittsburgh in the late 90s. This song actually brought tears to my eyes. The perfect ringing clarity of her voice just tears at your heart.

@KBLNW This rings true with me as well.. nothing wrong with feeling lonely and lost as your children move on with their lives.. without you.

If that line about the rodeo doesn't rip your heart out - you're a corpse.

I'm a rock fan but there's something about the performance quality of today's country recordings that far exceeds most rock. Here, Suzy Bogguss takes a great Ian Tyson song, delivers it in the style of Judy Collins with a tad more emotion & a yodal, backs the track with outstanding musicians, hi-quality recording & editing, to deliver perfection.
Country pop don't get none to much better than this, does she? Heck, the country boy in me's a comin' out to y'all. Hope it ain't permanent-like.
