Part 1 (of 4)

During his time in San Francisco, while partnering with SFParkour for the YouTube L!VE event at Fort Mason, Dan Edwardes of Parkour Generations was kind enough to stick around the following day for a workout and Q&A session at the Bunkers. This incredibly informative four part series covers the entire 40 minute dialogue where Dan talks about everything from practical and effective training, to current parkour philosophical discussions, to the ADAPT Certification process.

Overall, we were extremely pleased to have the opportunity to host this special jam. Dan's insight and knowledge of all things parkour were invaluable.

At a glance:
- Landing Technique
-- Why it works
-- Rolling
- Self preservation
-- Avoiding injuries & staying healthy
- Sensitivity training
-- Benefits of barefoot training
- Intro to the efficiency paradox

  • @BladePi

"[Muscular]efficiency is defined as the ratio of mechanical work output to the total metabolic cost, as can be calculated from oxygen consumption." - Wikipedia

Even if Dan's statement was meant to refer to 'increased efficiency', humans lack any common-sense intuition or conscious experience of muscular efficiency. Duh!

  • @eightyeightdays there doesnt have to be scientific study. it's common sense. duh!

  • Point me to any scientific study that shows "silence demonstrates muscular efficiency" and I'll gladly read it.

  • @SadegoGG i'm not thats why i'm watching this

  • i love dan edwardes, his tight tops, the way he likes to profit from parkour...

  • But most of the people find it useful..:)

  • Kids arn't athletic anymore...it's pathetic. They play video games, watch pornography, and do drugs. There nerds and low-lifes.

  • @Teghead so true

  • Just listen to how uite your landing is.

    Dan: tap

    Others kids: BOOM!

  • Massive lols at bad explanations!

I love it when Dan struggles to create a concise point.
