  • If that is from a 45, I must say that it is a very clean copy. However, it is not from a first pressing. For some reason, all of the later pressings have a very audible edit at about 1:26. I don't know why, perhaps the original master was damaged. If you listen to some of the original direct-from-vinyl 45's and 78's here, you'll notice that the edit isn't there.....Strange......

  • @duster413 : Well, I have two original copies of "Pledging My Love" on the Duke Records label, with original sleeves included and about 15 other copies on misc. labels , such as the "Collectibles" record label. Whatever copy I came to first in my external hard drive went on the video, didn't matter much to me either way, still doesn't. One of my Duke copies is VG+ and sounds perfect and recorded perfectly. I do know the "edit" or flaw you speak of though.

  • Man, sweet! That's one hell of a clean record for an original pressing! And with an original sleeve to boot!

Got the 78 of this posted at my channel, but it's seen a relatively rough life. ;)

  • @SwingMan1937 : Ya, I got lucky on finding this one. I found two copies of it on DUKE , one was clean and the other was beat silly. Then later on, I found two sleeves in two separate locations. However, you are fortunate to have a 78 copy as well. Hell, I'll take whatever I can get sometimes. The stuff is rapidly disappearing.

  • such a wonderful song.

  • beautiful song

  • THIS WAS OUR WEDDING SONG!

  • The "Original" is always the BEST!!!

  • The 45 which I do have featured an overdubbed chorus. That was stupid when they added an additional chorus to go with the song. It was a bit out of place.
