dangerous business indeed. id wanna say it sounds too .............. "happy?" but thats probably because its nearly impossible to sound as sad as tom in this song. great cover anyway.

An honest effort, and better musicianship than I generally hear or adhere to when it comes to Tom Waits. Too much echo though; the beauty of the original track is that he seems to spit the lyrics out reluctantly, and naked of effects like a confession rather than a composed piece. The rawness digs deep, which is what your glossed over cover missed, but not by too far. Don't be discouraged, it takes a lot or balls to put it out there in any case.
