Dear sir, Papa Haydn was a beloved man in his age, and a very, very nice person. Haydn happened to be quite generous and was no zealous jew-hating NSDAP member.
Please do not be so unfair and stereotypical towards people of Germanic heritage; it is really despicable and mean-spirited.

i know you might not answer to this.. do you have a slower, sader version... the highest pitched violing needs to cry in agony for me. and the entire movement seems more enjoyable to me when it is played slightly slower

Hoch Habsburg!!!
I listened to this piece probanly a hundred times in various executions.
This one seems the best to me as far as one can speak of a "best".
Something is very different here though I cannot put a finger on it.
What is it?
Can someone better informed about classical music than me enlighten me, please?

This quartet is a HIP quartet. HIP stands for Historically Informed Performance, meaning that this ensemble plays instruments modified to the state they were when they were made in the 18th century, use gut strings or metal wrapped gut strings, and play with the taste and style of the classical era (which is surprisingly different compared to today's conservatory playing style). The intention is to replicate the sound of the era, and to play in a way that would have been familiar to Haydn.
