I've had an ingrown toenail since September 2008. It hasn't gone away no matter what I do, and now it just doesn't hurt. But it's still red and if you stand on it, it hurts like a bitch, but I don't feel it at all other than that.

@not12stare Yes it santize but my proffessor form anatomy and physiology says that epsom salt and hydrogenpoxide actually kill skin cells that are suppose to help heal the wound. That the person is only suppose to use them if you have to( ex. infection or havein something in the wound). He also says because of this it can actually cause biggers scares on some wounds. Yes it can help but both products dont know the difference between bacteria and new epitheliums.
