"Beating the Johto Elite Four and receiving the ticket to go to Kanto is, by far, the single-handed greatest gaming extra to date.

The simple pleasure of seeing old faces, traversing familar terrain and battling to remixes such as this was more than anyone could ask for, and by God it seems both gamers new and old will get to experience it once more in the upcoming remakes of Gold and Silver:

"Heart Gold" and "Soul Silver".

In regards to the actual track, I chose this out of the other Kanto remixes due to the fact that it reminded me of the first time I faced Brock back in 98', with only a single Charmander to my name.

Nostalgia may be blinding, but it reminds us of a simpler, more carefree time. This remix does all that and more, while providing a fast-paced melody perfectly suited to battling.

Thank you, GameFreak. You were, and always will be, a great part of my gaming life."

Yeah, definitely best extra ever. It was just even more icing on the cake to fight Red at the end of Kanto.

I'm glad someone else sees how amazing this track is. It's probably my second favourite battle theme in the series (just behind the Emerald Frountier Brain theme)
