  • does the GT-730F work without internet connection?? can i have a downloadead-area-map and use it ???

  • That is correct, it's a full standalone GPS receiver and you can use it without a network connection. However you can download settings to the GPS from the internet to make it faster to locate if you do have internet available.

  • cool how? please let us know your secret.

  • The D5530 has a GPS built in, ALL D5530 will do GPS, the driver install is tricky but I have GPS on mine also

  • Thanks for posting here, as well as putting the detail in the other forum. I order a mini with the Ubuntu OS. Hopefully I can get an APRS application to communicate withe the GPS receiver if I do a similar hack

  • Thanks great idea
