Architects are blaming what they call structural failures for the Kiambu building tragedy. The Architectural Association of Kenya declared that the contractors flouted key building standards in putting up the structure. However, as Brenda Mulinya reports, the country does not seem to have learnt any lesson from previous such tragedies.
Great words!

A show of good effort by locals, uniformed men and women. Now call in the Israelis and their sniffer dogs...then watch and learn from them for morrow disasters!

I always say that nothing changes in Kenya, disaster happen, we mourn, complain for 3 days, the authorities promise to do something, then all is forgotten untill the next disaster and the same cycle is repeated year in year out.

This is some bs, If anyone should be blamed at all, they should start with the District Public Health Officials. They issue permits for these structures. They are always talking about contractor and so on and so forth. Why haven't inspections been done by the local govt officials responsible for this kind of work? People need to go to jail and serve manslaughter sentences so others can learn.
