first check and ensure that your firearm is unloaded.
field stripping disassembly and assembly my smith&wesson M&P 9mm using my powershot G7 digicam. double action only semi-automatic pistol other features include ambidextrous magazine release and slide lock, front rails, fish scales serrated slide with 3 sizes changeable back straps and 2 x 17 rounds magazines.

make sure when you replace back your barrel, recoil spring should snugly fit its groove perfectly staight and aligned to avoid premature take up of spring while pulling your slide back causing take down lever to flip halfway. you would not need to hold back your take down lever with index finger blocking it just bring the slide fully rearward briskly with no hesitation and takedown lever will return by itself...if not, then simply release it.

  • I am confused. I saw a video where a guy did not use that tool in the grip to take down the slide. Is the tool required or not? I don't like the idea of having to use a special tool. Please advise if you have time. thanks.

  • it's one unique safety feature of M&P to disassemble FA without pressing the trigger deactivate sear lever using the tool. (that's the whole idea)

  • Slow is smooth, smooth is fast!

  • Nice job man... doing mine now...

  • thanks for the vid...I love my M&P 9!!!

I've tried all the Glocks, Taurus, and Beretta 92s, but the M&P is best for me.

I still want to try the FNP9 and the CZ...but I don't see any of them replacing my M&P.

  • Just picked one up today. Now i have the M&P 9 and 40. Man, these guns are NICE !!!

  • @hatin11 Always center your spring to the assembly notch.

  • alot easier then my tauras.may have to get carry pistol

  • you can never miss the protruding button (smaller) end should be the muzzle end and the rear of the spring into the assembly notch of the barrel lug (make sure it is properly centered). blue paint on spring most of M&P 9 others have yellow. either a color code for different caliber or a special wear & tear indicator not so sure.

  • This is a nice vid. Also saw your vid where you field stripped and cleaned the M&P and would love to see it again lit well like you did in this video. Regardless, you do a nice tutorial.

  • Nice and simple! shhhhhhhhh thanks :)

  • ohhh the .40 cal stick with 9mm or 45. 100 yrs of faithful service !
