  • @LibertarianThinker The sad fact is that he thinks he is being witty and/or spouting revelation.

  • Mathews = FAIL i hope he goes home every night to reflect on how he sucks

  • Mathews asked a question, answered the question, and made a statement all in the same sentence. Then he says, "go ahead"!! This man is one of the reasons that MSNBC has no viewers!! What a joke he is!!

  • @MrLIBERAL87 Actually, it is NOT my opinion. Read the Declaration of Independence. It clearly states the basis upon which our country was founded. Remember that it was several YEARS before the constitution was drafted.

You mistakenly equating religion with a belief in God. The two are not the same.

I have not referred to the pledge of allegiance. The fact that it reflects our national belief in God is not big surprise.

  • @CommonSenseJoe All I am saying is that it is just your opinion. Don't confuse the two?....... Don't associate the two!

Besides, what's the difference? Religion is not apart of our government at all. The only part it plays is saying the pledge of allegiance. By the way, that pledge of allegiance is to the SECULAR United States of America....... not ANY god.

  • @MrLIBERAL87 It is legal because we had a Supreme Court that decided to take away the most fundamental right (life) from the unborn. I am not saying we should run the country on the basis of religion. All I am saying is that our country was founded and prospered because of it's belief in God. Don't confused the two.

  • @sicktoaster I seek no approval or support. I am simply stating a historical fact. This country has been successful because it was founded on a different concept than any other nation. It is the belief that we ARE created by God and we have rights given to us by GOD. I am not telling you how you should worship or follow God. You are the one who wants to deny the foundation of our country.

  • @armyveteran101st I don't totally disagree with you. However, the most of the framers believed in God and based this country on that belief. No one wants a single religion to be running our country. That goes for atheism as well.

  • @CommonSenseJoe If this country is founded on a belief in A god, then why is abortion still legal? Why are only two of the 10 commandments laws? (even though the answer is because they should be obvious laws). This country was not founded on religion otherwise being gay would be illegal. Running a country based on religion is what the middle-east (ass-backwards land) does.

  • @CommonSenseJoe Nobody wants to. As far as I'm concerned, you can worship your ceiling fan if you so choose. The 1st Amendment is very clear on that. However, it is an indisputable fact that most of the Framers had strong reservations regarding the relationship between religion and the state. Out of these concerns came the principle of separation between church and state and the 1st Amendment, which protects the government and the church from interference of one in the affairs of the other.
