Can i just say, heavy metal and rock are basically classical songs, with distortion. thats why so many classical songs sound so good on the guitar, and also jazz songs are so basic! They have a basic chord progression which if you try to develop on, the jazz world shuns you. And as for "an idiot's lullaby" well, its a basic song, but whats wrong with that? most of the best songs ever are "an idiot's lullaby". if you want to look at it like that. jazz is very simple, with some improv included!

Even if the chord progression is basic, it doesn´t mean the music has to be basic and dull. It´s funny how these "musicians" get so excited about some classical works, like Pachelbel´s Canon, it "sounds so F´n cool". Reason is, they become familiar, for the first time, to a "miracle" called "circle or fifths" (which already Bach, in the 1700s, used a lot). It is almost a joke to those people that have listened a lot of music, such a worn out cliche.........
