  • Could U please tell me what is he saying at 1:14? (I mean austronaut) and what does it mean? Thanks

  • Then why on other Night Landing such as STS-114 and STS-115 have no APU Flame?

  • "Media"? Are you referring to the flight controllers in Houston?

  • 1. The APU vent flame is normal

    2. There are more emergency vehicles there than you will ever see in your lifetime.

  • Is necessary or safety a priority.

If I ran the program, fire trucks would be there on stand byto hose down the shuttle, period, no exceptions, remember the shuttle has just come thru 3000 degrees heat on re-entry.

"Not necessary" is what caused Challenger and Columbia disasters.

    Safety comes first, period.

And fuck the media and their wishes.

  • If you cool some metals too quickly, they sometimes warp or lose the desired properties, such as temper, malleability, strength, etc.

  • Because it isn't necessary?

  • Awesome landing. That APU vent flame that we see on the tail is surprising.

Even though they say it's normal, fire trucks should be on automatic immediate standby at the full stop point prior to landing to hose the shuttle down to take the heat off.

Any reason why it can't be?

  • a picture perfect landing :)

  • VERY cool.
