  • Wow! I cant believe I've never heard of this band before!

  • @6EELZE6U6666 Well, then we can agree to disagree. I can't say anything to convince you that it's a prog. metal song and you can't say anything to convince me that it's a prog. rock song.

  • @ConsecratedOblivion I know all these things I mean you can check out my channel, there's metal songs on there that I have written that aren't full of dissonance. whether I consider it a metal song or not really doesn't matter. Sure there are metal elements in there, I agree, however these elements are so minimal. To me the rock elements ring through far more. Also I know SW are a prog metal band, I just mean this song.

  • @6EELZE6U6666 I apologize if I was abrasive. But whether I was being condescending is irrelevant. Music doesn't need to use dissonant tones to be metal; the powerful melody in this song is used a lot in prog metal. And production has little to do with a band's genre. The riffs are structured in a very heavy-metal-inspired way, mixed with a lot of harmonies and melodies. These guys aren't the only metal band to do this. Blended with the prog rock influence, it's a prog metal song.

  • @ConsecratedOblivion thanks for the patronizing comment.

  • @6EELZE6U6666 Well, that's fine, but the fact of the matter is they're metal. If you don't hear the metal riffing in this then I guess you don't hear it, but it's quite clearly a prog. metal song. Metal isn't all blast beats and tremolo picked dissonant guitar.

  • @ConsecratedOblivion I haven't been tricked, I have listened to the instrumentation in the bridge. I stand by what I said.

  • @6EELZE6U6666 Don't let the melodic soloing and vocal harmonies trick you into not thinking this is metal. Listen to the instrumentation in the bridge to the chorus.

  • @6EELZE6U6666 Not metal? If this isn't metal than 80% of prog. metal isn't metal. You can clearly hear the metal influence.
