see, what i dont understand is why white people take racism from black people, almost all white people wouldn't dare say anything about black people because we know its wrong and are ashamed of history. but its completely acceptable the other way around?
our society accepts that black people could say all the racist things about white people and we just take it? thats not equality and harmony, this is the reason there is still tension between our races. its ridiculous!

A lot has changed for the better since Emmett Till.
The only problem is there are still some racists left.
As for George Bush, well, he only liked himself.

Well it makes sense in away. 200 years of racism isn't just going to go away because somebody signed a bill. Sure, everybody has rights now, everybody is equal in the eyes of the law. But white people like our selves have to understand that we had this coming. You don't just disrespect black people for over 200 years and expect them to not be pissed?

@mkulax Amen! My best friends family is pushing her away because she has me for a best friend. My family loves her to death. Her youngest is my God child, they treat her almost as if she were my own birth child, they don't notice her skin is not like mine or theirs. But my friend's family sure looks at me funny, and I can see they are uncomfortable with me. Its sad, I can see her pain. Oh yea, Im white, my best friend is black.

Did someone really compare the brutal brutal evil murder of a 14 yo child, who happened to have a darker colored skin tone, to the ban of "bling" in the NBA? REALLY? Hmmmm let me see, what to compare next, oh oh I know! I don't know what I can't stand more, getting a paper cut from opening Christmas gifts on Christmas morning, or finding my brutally murdered child in the basement of my home? Papercuts really do sting alot, hmmmm?!?!?!?!?

this whole thing does not make sense to me... the two don't even slightly compare. The music doesn't even make sense.... yes, clever- Golddigger turned politcal... but honestly, i don't want to see one of the worlds most influential images from the time of the Civil Rights Movement and be listening to a kanye west song. Props to kanye and his music, but it just doesnt feel right..it feels almost insulting.

i think that you should watch the documentary before deciding what's insulting and what isn't. the point of the hour-long program is that 1-emmett till's murder sparked a movement that many feel obliterated racism against black americans, and 2- that i (the director) feel it did NOT obliterate racism,

and that even today, racism against any 'minority' (i belong to one, by the way) is still rampant; kanye and the bling ban are just examples of today's feelings ON racism, not meant to be compared with emmett. i ask all visitors to this page to make informed comments. thank you.
