Deconstructing "Gender Studies"

@hjhornbeck "Did a woman bite you?"
Aaand there it is - the male shaming language used by those who use the type of bigoted arguments you are expressing here. Cohen is a leader in this field and his studies most certainly ARE based in science, specifically hormonal research empirically proving the effects of androgens and estrogens. Is the amygdala anxiety causing you to lash out in denial? I think so :-P
I don't think there's anything I can do to convince you of your own delusions.

@bl0ggcat Whoops, my bad. I had forgotten about the semantic distinction of gender v. sex. But. . i AM aware of it.
I have been training myself, and encouraging others, to stop saying "gender" altogether, and stick to "sex" -- meaning biological maleness or femaleness.
"Sex" is simple. One is objectively male or female in 99.6% of cases. "Gender" refers to nothing more than behavior (and subjective feeling).

@Savagehenryconcon Good to see you know where I'm coming from. But the problematic links to Marxism have come from an interpretation of Marxist ideas via Marx's words himself, as well Engels of course, who was very anti-family. But then you had the Neo-Marxists and others inspired by his works, who really took the communist idea of collectivism to levels of inhumane and unrealistic levels, while denying nature itself.

@RockingMrE I agree with you here in my first premise "Biological determinism...cannot really justify any political decisions". I do recognise that legal systems are quite hard on men nowadays in divorce settlements. What I meant about "not needing men for money" was more to do with single/working women. Men paying for women "as tradition" is definitely exploitation but wouldn't say that it would be a "leftist" policy. True leftist thought is about equality, some feminism misses that point.

@RockingMrE (cont) Just to be clear; alimony and child support is not the same as "not needing men for money." It is financial servitude that men are forced to abide by, while fatherhood is considered unnecessary. We did not evolve to marginalise men and fathers in this way. You should take a good look around you and see what it's doing to the youth of today. They're crying out for fathers in their lives. Implosion will be the result if we continue. There will no "evolution." This is idealism.

@Savagehenryconcon This aside you are basically justifying women using men as wage slaves for their own benefit, as though this is sustainable enough to last and actually become a part of human evolution. Treating men this way will result in resentment, since we all need reciprocal altruism at heart. This system will fail unless we learn to treat men with respect they not only deserve, but need if they're to continue giving to a female section of society that presently takes more than it gives.

Biological determinism is an explanation for various inclinations and orientations in humans but cannot really justify any political decisions. A Considerable amount of theory that i have read on evolutionary psychology/biology makes it clear that evolution is a long process which answers to environments and states of nature in the race for survival. By simple inventions such as the condom can have impact on the future course of gender evolution as less women have kids/need men for money.

Too hip for me. I bailed at 12 seconds.

If anyone is in any doubt about gender studies, check out Tom Martin's sex discrimination lawsuit against Europe's largest gender studies department, at LSE, for its use of male-blaming propaganda. The court hearing is on March 13th. See the YT vid, press, and other media, at the sexismbusters website.
It is a mistake to assume those who disagree with you have been programmed, brainwashed, etc.
