LOL I hear the Tree fell down in a recent storm anyway! Good luck. Maybe you guys can go video tape the HOLE where it used to be?
-
@EternalRift -Nobody video taped a park, they taped a
tree! And who cares that Bogart married Bacall there?
I suspect that both of them PEED in the same toilet there
too! Shall we video tape that too? Folks fly thousands of
miles to New Zeeland to see the mountain where "Lord
Of The Rings" was filmed. From what I hear, it was used
for 2 miserable weeks and then restord to its frigid,
wind-swept wasteland self that it is. What the hell's wrong
with you people? Are we sad and empty?

@thegrinchl7 As a matter of fact, the tree is on a state park called Malabar Farms in Ohio. The farm was built and owned by Louis Bromfield, a Pulitzer Prize winning author, and Humphrey Bogart had his wedding to Lauren Bacall held there in 1945. It's not a site that is only happens to be famous because a few scenes from a movie were filmed there, it is a genuine historical site that a few movie scenes happened to be filmed at. Or are you going to condone visiting historical sites too?
-
@BenderBurgers - LOL Yeah, you're right. People watching a video at home wastes far more time than those getting on a jet, renting a car and driving miles to a tree.
-
@thegrinchl7 Whos wasting their time more? the people visiting this or the person watching the video of the person visiting a tree from a movie and complaining that these people exist?
-
@thegrinchl7 First off i wouldnt go out of my way to see it.If i happened to be in the area i might check it out.Why not.you called these people unstable.Have you ever met an unstable person before?they tend to be violent ,have severe drug problems and anger issues, they dont visit locations from their favorite movies. And you seem rather angry at something so insignificant which to me is more a trait of someone whos unstable than a fan of a movie visiting a location where that movie was filmed
-
@BenderBurgers - It was a movie. Worse than that...it was a TREE in a movie! One can imagine a group of you people desperately trying to find a ticket to outer space so as to visit the "Tree of Life" in Avatar. You pathetic little tourist.
-
@thegrinchl7 calm down guy.Theres nothing weird about it.How do you know this person is unstable and unhappy?Maybe they live in the area and just thought it would be cool to be where one of the characters in one of their favorite movies has been.
thumbs up if NPR brought you here!!

Folks, it was a prop in a MOVIE. It has no application
to your lives except that which you insist upon. Which
means you could visit a gas station toilet in Arizona
and have the same mystical experience. You know,
there's something of a benign mental illness about
this, chasing down a tree in a movie. Just think of the
time that could have been spent trying to figure out
why you're so unstable and unhappy!
