  • Thanks a lot, vaimusic. This is really interesting. And what a tempo! But where are the women?

  • Interestingly conveys Scherchen's energy, determination, egotism, offensiveness and meanness. Elias Canetti says, in his scathing accound of Scherchen in 'The play of the eyes', that Scherchen 'compressed his lips to make sure that no praise would escape them'. Did he achieve the wonderful results he got because of those nasty qualities, or in spite of them?
