ED Sing-a-Long: The Anthem (This Is The ER!)

To the tune "The Anthem" by Good Charlotte.

This was inspired by a gentleman to walked into the ED with a full-blown MI. Every possible condition that could go right, went right. We went from 'time of triage' to 'cath lab' in an astounding 12 minutes, this included the triage, 2 IV lines, meds, consents, EKG and chest x-ray.
It was freaking amazing and the staff high-fived like we won the Superbowl.

Actually, Morphine is the narcotic drug of choice given to cardiac patients. Morphine not only provides pain relief, but also increases the hearts ability to pump.

YA, and for all the whiners saying you are mean to drunks and drug seekers....this is the reason for an ER, this is why we are here, this is the time you waste, this is the man's bed you take up when you come in with your lies for your drugs, a 6 year old with an asthma attack, a fisherman with a rattlesnake bite, trauma. This is the ER.......

wow 12 minutes?? you guys must have a cath lab 24/7. we are under our states average. not sure of our in house average... off the top of my head but i will send it to ya when i do :)

We did door to cath lab in 6 minutes with everything done except CXR. Lots of back slapping and high fives after that one!!!
