RIP Gonzo, You are a Champion

Gonzo was put down November 4, 2009. We loved him very much and now he can be crazy and beautiful forever.


I made this a long time ago... it took me sometime to acually have the guts to put this on here. Gonzo is my

sister's horse.

He is a 17 hh TB and has seriously the best personality you can ask for. Our family bought him for her birthday in September 2006. She only got to show him 2 times when in the summer of 2007 he got sick. He contracted EPM which is a spinal cord disease. It basically eats away the tissue of the spinal cord causeing the horse to loose control of its leg(s). We spent a butt load of money for the medicine that would hopefully save his life and so he could be ridden again. And after 2 treatments of medicine, he was able to be ridden again. He started to get better and better every day and he was becoming himself. Then in the spring of 2009, he relapsed. We decided that it would he was worse then ever, so we took him to A&M to get him euthinized. But when we took him, we just could not have the guts to do it, they were going to do it that day. We thought they would wait a few weeks. So we took him to where he is now, where he will spend his days hanging out in the pasture with his lifelong lover Sadie, a 17.1hh black percheron.

Nevertheless, Gonzo can never be ridden again, and he must be on pasture rest for the rest of his life. I love Gonzo and I thank God everyday for keeping him with us.

My horses name is Gonzo, but thts not his full name. His full name is Gonzo Guacamole Frankenstein. The lady's nephew tht owns the farm I ride at named him tht! But beautiful horse, my Gonzo isn't as close to tht horses good looks!!!!

@HorseRiderz4Life Thanks! thats quite the interesting name! Yeah my Gonzo's name was once named River, but he had such a large roman nose, we changed it to Gonzo off of sesme street because he had a large curved nose too! haha

he was, i never saw him refuse a jump, even if have no stirups and you were riding sideways he would still jump it. haha he is still pretty good looking, he lost a lot of muscle, but he is still georgous. :D

Still good looking guy? I hope? Look like a gelding 2 me. But anyway nice put together horse, seems pretty honest too!
