Here's the opening track from Tourniquet drummer Ted Kirkpatrick's solo release ODE TO A ROADKILL. Tourniquet drummer, songwriter, and lyricist for the past 20 years, Ted has released a new album containing seven brand new songs of hypnotic plodding stoner metal. A 42 minute wall of sound made possible by vintage Orange and Sunn amps. "Vocals" courtesy of authentic haunting animal sounds, reflecting Ted's deep respect for the animal realm... Produced, recorded, and mixed by Ted himself. "I have always wanted to make a record like ODE TO A ROADKILL. I have been a fan of slow "stoner" music for many years, and this album definitely fits that category, with my own influence to it, of course. The title track refers to the sad reality of the millions of animals who die each year on our roadways."
All guitars, amps, cabinets, speakers and effects pedals from the 1970's
GUITAR: Orange OR120 amp, Orange 4 x 12 with Eminence speakers, Orange 4 x 12 with Celestion speakers, Gibson SG.
BASS: Sunn Beta Bass amp, Sunn 215B cabinet, Gibson SB350 bass.
Ted endorses DW drums, Paiste cymbals, Vic Firth drumsticks, and Evans drumheads.

  • ...HELL FUCK YES.

  • Fuck Yes.

  • very awesome!! definitely NOT Tourniquet Thrash Metal, but so cool in that vintage Stoner vibe! and the vocals!! wow!!!

  • I think it good to see people experimenting with something new. It could of been much better though, but hats off to you. Its very heavy and dark... but that is sometimes good. :)

  • It's very hypnotic stuff. Don't mind listening to an intstrumental like this here and there. Listening to the CD all the way through might be a bit much.

  • i think the same as beornmatt...

but maybe that is because we all are into tourniquet :)... and don't know anything of stoner metal :)

it's not my taste.. but i'm happy he does what he likes ;)

i hope that the new tourniquet album will be a awesome hard, and thrashy album :)

    god blessings :D

  • its experimental.

  • Love it!

  • fantastic Ted....

  • Yeah, I'm thinking this is extremely boring. I expected so much better from Ted. I hope Tourniquet isn't going to head in this direction.
