It depends. Overall, yes. But if you wanna get technical, it differs greatly. Rogue Squadron is arcade like, whereas XWA is more in depth with the flight simulation part.

@LightningHound there is a mission editor called Allied and i think several others. it will allow you to change the player craft to anything you wish. you can even make your own missions from scratch .

I just to have this game, but when I had it, I was way to young to understand how to play this game, I was like 8-10 years old. I would probably understand it now but i dont have it anymore :(

Wrong. Just up the difficulty setting to something real or you can even play TIE-fighter to get the real deal.

I really dislike the HUD and cockpits in this game. I much prefer the HUD and cockpits in the original X Wing game. They replicated the ones seen in the movies, specially the cheesy radar and hit detector.
