  • @jump5freak93 You're right, this was the Helvey arrangement. This is what becomes problematic after singing for so long, you do multiple arrangements of the same song then forget which one you posted on YouTube 2 years ago. :)

I don't recall making any edits to this score when we sang it. Dr. T. wasn't big on making random changes to established repertoire just to mix things up. He only did that to his own works.

  • @Muffynz Well, actually, as stated in the video description, it is arranged by Howard Helvey. I have the score arranged by him, and that one spot is the only part that is different than written.

  • The director must have edited it on the second phrase of "oh shenendo I long to see you" because the added sharp for the tenors is not written in the music.

  • I loved singing this song that year. I miss Mads! This was a great year for MAds. I wish Dr. T would make that CD we recorded. Does anyone have a recording from when we did "nine hundred miles?" I really loved that song, I'd love to hear it.

  • Yeah most choirs have a HUGE problem keeping this song in pitch. This version actually seems easier though then the version my choir sang only due to the fact there were not as many divisions within it. But still this song due to how slow it should be taken is very easy to fall flat

  • I just do not like this version of the song. I think you guys sounded good though. I can not remember which arrangment I sang but it just seemed to flow together much better then this. It was almost like a switch off between guys and girls for the main voice

  • im singing a diffrent version of this song in solo version for our solo and ensemble compition

  • Good afternoon, What a great start! Your dresses look great! Your sound was in tune a little covered at points. You might want to use the the forward U position. Your phrasing could be a little bit better. Watch out for the guys pushing ... have them back off a bit! But overall what a great job!
