Actually, India has one of THE WORST safety records on the planet for trains. They have on average at least 350 train or rail-related deaths per year. Please, little boy, don't try to sound educated when you are clearly anything but.

Biggest initiative underway in prevention of collisions is introduction of Anti
Collision Device (ACD) developed indigenously. Anti Collision Device (ACD) works
on a satellite based Global Positioning System (GPS) and Angular Deviation Count
principle for identification of track lay out.
Accidents per million train Km., a
composite index of safety, dropped sharply from 5.5 in 1960s to a figure of 0.39 in
2003-04. IR has thus taken long strides in improving safety of rail travel.

You are very wise to understand where the problems lie. It is up to us to improve our country. If we don't no one else will.
And yes, something bad could have happened. it could happen in India, in US or in Heaven. Even if i was wearing a seatbelt on the train, if i was destined to get hurt, it would happen wherever I was.
