MASADA. For the next couple days, the Israeli opera is celebrating its 25th anniversary with an exceptional production. Its staging Verdi's Nabucco at the foot of Mount Masada, near the Dead Sea. Daniel Oren conducts this unprecedented in one of Israel's most precious historical sites. Performances started on June 3rd and have all sold out since then according to the concert's website. Nabucco is generally considered to be Verdi's Jewish opera, but also the work which definitely established the artists' reputation as one of the world's most talented composers. Nabucco is the tale of the forced exile of the Jewish people after the invasion lead by the Babylonian King Nabuchodonosor.
