Due to a Windows virus Google chrome causes blue screen of death as seen in the video the OS is running fine until the browser is launched. This error code causes much confusion as it blames the DRIVERS or the HARD DRIVE for the OS failure when infact the problem is with a virus that kept comming back until I ran a train load of virus scanners on my pc the one that got rid of it for good was TDSSKiller... however you should use several virus scanners to ensure your pc's safety. I recommend running scans with Malwarebytes, MSSE, Ccleaner, Spybot Search and Destroy are some great free ones! The virus is gone for ever! Problem solved!

The virus was alureon and it kept commig back until I used a bunch of virus scanners to get rid of it for good. The virus kept returning after deleting it. TDSSKILLER did the job.

Some FREE resources to help:
TDSSKiller:

Malwarebytes Anti-Malware:

Spybot - Search & Destroy:

Windows 8 users already have this as "Windows Defender" but for windows 7 and below --Microsoft Security Essentials (64-bit):

*UPDATE*
Use CCleaner as well with defaults selected it will delete viruses in your temp folders:
*Users are warned from changing the attributes unless they are advanced users and know what they are doing as selecting certain non-default options may cause data loss *you have been warned*

If any of the links fail or anything just goto cnet.com and copy & paste the names into cnet's search.

A friendly reboot may be required to remedy the virus(es) once you run all the scanners and get rid of all the viruses.

This is exactly my problem as well...... it worked fine the first couple of weeks but.... now it just bluescreens everything I close it really quickly or even click on a link from like Skype or a game.... some say to disable the accelerated graphics option and it will work but I haven't tried it out.

try all the virus scanners if that fails then it could very well be a hardware issue. check ur bios see if anything got messed with there who knows what causes bsod's anymore its random. my wireless caused bsod's in windows 8 all the time til i updated it so try updating drivers as well or downgrading them if possible

Thaat's Right! I know it's because of the Blue Screen of Death. Try restarting your computer, and start Windows with regular settings. Uninstall this browser, and BAM! Hm, hm, hm! The. browser. is successfully. UNINSTALLED! I'm a Internet Explorer 10 and Windows 8 Pro user.

Windows 7 is in great peril!! I know it's because of the Blue Screen of Death again. Will it never tire of terrorizing us? Marisa stole the computer's Power of SysWOW64 and disappeared into the walls along with this OS! Retrieve it from the walls.. Here is a hint: there are secret paths, and one of them leads to an antivirus in the description! Find it! (It will help you on your way to remove the virus.) I use Windows 8 Pro.

Yess. Someone who experiences it too. I thought chrome caused blue screens cause I downloaded it on my desktop, got blue screen, download it at moms office, computer got blue screen. Friend said he was having computer problems, scrapped old desktop for an old laptop. Just got blue screen. It has to be chrome.
