何度か翅を開くものの何故か飛び立てない。仰向けの状態から起き上がるときは脚だけでなく長い触角も使う。口元に紙を差し出すと名前の通り鋭い大顎でなんなく噛み切る。
Meet a male of the serrated longhorn beetle (Prionus insularis insularis). Longhorn beetles are called "kamikiri-mushi" in Japanese, meaning "paper cutters" or "hair cutters". Here is a demonstration of his razor-sharp mighty jaws. Early-August, 2007 in Japan.
