  • So far Ofcom, who are responsible for tv output have had 26 complains, one from a lady whose daughter hung herself!

  • Yes but hanging can be a personal think. Murder films don't make killers, well maybe a couple but hanging is an individual thing and in this current climate it could eneter bpeoples minds after seeing this

  • If someone has it in their minds to top themselves, they'll do it. I dont see this influencing anyone, this was after all a stunt for TV and showed the safety harness.

I dont buy into the BS and hype that gets attached to things like this movies or video games. People need to step back and face reality.

  • I find Yvette annoying at the best of times, would she of been so enthusiastic if she had that noose around her neck? I left the room, couldnt watch it/

  • That show is really silly. What was the point of this stunt? I have to agree with you, Kevin, in that I think there will be more hangings, especially among teens, after this. It seems stupid and irresponsible.

  • I'm not really sure if this alone would incite someone into taking their own lives. This may be one, but I tend to agree with others here thatif you are desperately depressed everything could be a possible trigger. I did think the reason they did it - to stir up and heighten negative energies by enacting the hanging was quite irresponsible and the re-showing from all angles on the gratuitous side. I do think it was an ill-advised "stunt" though and just hope there are no "copy-cat" incidents.

  • Hundreds of years ago? Heck it still goes on today, and went on in the modern world till abuot 50 years ago

  • break down of social and religious taboos. Not to mention the glorification of suicide in media and literature. All in all, its a big mixing pot of different problems and at the end of the day, if an unhappy kid is ignored, anything could happen.

As for Most Haunted... these silly stunts are unecessary. They are just trying to grab more viewers. At the end of the day, if they continue angering spirits they aren't going to be very happy themselves.

  • Personally I think it makes little to no difference. As a teen who has been suicidal in the past, I know, like many that EVERYTHING affects you in that state. Be you watching a disney film or a horror film. Ambulance sirens, fallen birds... If you are suicidal, anything can trigger.

There are lots of seemingly chain reaction suicides of young people all over the country. Usually they happen in deprived areas and in winter. People aren't so hesitant commiting suicide these days due to the (c)

  • What are they doing? Appeasing a spirit by doing a mock hanging?

While I agree with Princessannikki that it's no more shocking than graphic murders on TV... the idea that they're feeding into this spirit's depravity rather than banishing it or sending it on to the other side. For entertainment!!! I don't like Most Haunted anyway. Now I really am annoyed.
