Love But Not Acceptance...

Over at the apartment, as Fish, Cris and Layla are talking about Fish's parents, Mrs. Fish arrives. Cris and Layla head out to get everyone lunch, leaving Mrs. Fish to say, "Your father believes what he believes, I can't change him." Fish asks what she believes then expresses how hard it was to grow up ignoring what she saw, between him and Kyle, and how hard it was for him to give up Kyle - for her! Mrs. Fish thinks her son can change, if he puts his mind to it, but Fish explains he's tried - but he's gay and has never felt for anyone like he felt for Kyle. "Accept me, Mom," Fish says. "That's what I want." When Layla and Cris return, Mrs. Fish leaves, telling Fish, "Take care of yourself, I love you." Fish asks her to tell his father that he loves him too.

Fish's father arrives at his apartment, with his mother, and says that although he loves him, he will not accept his lifestyle. Fish stand tall, says his lifestyle is not a choice, then sends his parents on their way.
