My very first attempt at a steam driven engine. Its made entirely from junk parts and metal scraps. In this video I have assembled it and using air power to test the basic mechanics of it. No idea what I could power with it. Its not very powerful yet. I havent built a boiler for it yet either. Won't really be a steam engine until then.

  • Hey cool! Is it double acting?

  • Thanks. No, in this first video it was only powered on the foward stroke. In the second video it has power on both strokes, hence double acting I guess.

  • personally, i'm imagining a granite flywheel for a bench grinder... assuming it has the torque for it.

  • What next a steam tank?

  • Good one Richard! That's one way to let off steam in between tank projects.
