A remake of Daggerfall, with graphics similar to late PS1 quality to retain some of that gritty feeling. The game would span a set of 5 discs, with a total install size of almost 50GB. All of Tamriel is explorable in extensive detail at real-world scale. NPC interaction is mostly voiced but with vast amounts of text-based conversation. Jeremy Soule arranges a modern version of the score. All the RPG staples or II supplemented with the advances of III/IV/V.

Its a dream :)

@SGTBizarro If you want it to be a remake of Daggerfall, the score has to be composed by Eric Heberling. I don't have anything against Jeremy Soule, his work is tremendous, although if the music aims to create a feel similar to that of Daggerfall, the score has to be done by Eric Heberling.

Why hasn't Bethesda remade this classic game? The music alone would be great in a more modern audio setting.

I would love to have a remake of Daggerfall... If they did it the way it should be... This game was my first game that I played... Back when the game was $80 and I was just an 11 year old girl caught up in the epicness... I recently got a new computer built for me and my friend questioned why I would put an "old" game on it when I could play anything out there today.... I said nothing, but simply showed him the game... He quickly understood and went home to download it...

I'm almost planning a let's play of Arena through Skyrim also doing Redguard and Battlespire.

Might be a cool thing to do just a run through of all the main quests with perhaps a few side ones. :]

@Quartrez While I admire Heberling's work, personally I more enjoy Soule's style. Has Heberling worked with full orchestras or orchestral synth similar to Soule in more recent times? If so my opinion might change on the matter. But... who is to say... that they couldn't collaborate on the soundtrack together? It is a dream after all :) Oh man, I need to just stop imagining this.

@aerik9 Well, indie developers do what they can.

@MisterAAnderson Warband is certainly superior, but things like complete voice-acting, modern graphics, a more advanced command system including formations and starting deployments would REALLY help. Negotiations between factions for war/peace and other things would be nice. Conquering Calradia has proven next to impossible for me, and has all but bankrupted my character. Improvements like these are the things I'm hoping for with M&B2
