carrie underwood and redneck do NOT belong in the same sentence together. Carrie Underwood is truly one of the great artists out there right now. I'm not saying Lauren can't sing, she's just not on the same level as Carrie and had no business trying to sing with her. It made her look a lot worse than she really is...

@SparkleyStar43 Carrie Underwood and redneck really doesn't go together. LOL it really is unnecessary to say something that can't be farther away from the truth. Carrie was and still is America's sweetheart from day one. She stole everyone's hearts with her down to earth character and amazing vocals. Lauren is also sweet as well but her vocals aren't nearly as strong as Carrie's, especially shown in this performance. Lauren is still talented though. :)

Ok so why are we using nasty terms to describe people now? We are far too educated and advanced for such terms as 'redneck'. To add to the discussion, both ladies are talented, Carrie has also been my favourite idol and as continued to show why she won that year. Lauren is great as well, she has a powerful voice and what appears to be a bubbly attitude, ahe's now begun and like Carrie she too will grow so stop comparing people, just appreciate both these talented ladies.

Also, before you go lecturing me for having an OPINION, you should probably work on your grammar because it's really difficult to take you seriously when you can't even use proper English. I never said Lauren was bad, I just said Carrie was better. Oh, and they can be compared to each other and by their singing together, the door was opened for comparison.

@fortunecookie623 first off,Carrie was a "redneck" when she started off and and not everyone can by compared to some people and second off,the judges picked who the american idols sing with,not her so thats the judges fault but I think this was a GOOD freakin performance so get all the facts before you diss someone

I think everybody should just stop judging because nobody has business to. I think that anybody who has the audacity to say Lauren isn't a talented singer is clearly deaf. Her accent holding her back in her songs? Excuse me sweetheart, she is from GEORGIA! She has a southern accent and I'm not sure if you listen to country music or not, but country music is meant to have a twang to it. Maybe if you'd stop listening to all that rap that people want to call music, you'd find out who really cansing
