  • I wonder why there are so many death threats towards people lately. I think the world is slowly starting to go insane....

  • Goldfish have been kept in pots & bowls for thousands of years . Why do people in the west trip so much about this ? Really ???

  • Some one needs to kill you.:)

  • mabye you right though, however since you sent that comment, I attempted to introduce him into the larger aquarium and this time it was a succses. Now I use the bowl for breeding the fish, which works a treat with my other goldfish!

  • @ronanmurphy11 the size of the environment has nothing to do with swim bladder disorder. fancy goldfish need 10 gals per fish and single tails 20 gals per fish. High levels of nitrates, not soaking there food and bad water quality can cause swim bladder. Pojetina is right, goldies shouldn't be kept in bowls, they need serious filtration and lots of space to thrive. Sometimes keeping them in bowls works sometimes it doesn't, it is however not recommended.

  • sorry to say I dont agree with pojetina, I have a common goldfish in a 4 liter bowel for a year now, when I put him into a larger 60 liter, he started to tilt over cause he caught swim bladder but when he's in the bowel he's fine!

  • ...... what the hell was that it did not make any sense????

  • ???

  • 1 gallon of water per inch of ADULT fish. most gold fish get about 12 inches, that's 12 gallons each fish. plus they have high oxygen requirements which is why they need cold water to survive (cold water holds more oxygen) so they need some sort of aeration. NOT A BOWL!!!!! fish bowls are for bettas, gouramis and maybe killiefish.. nothing else!

  • you can not keep goldfish in bowls must be over 5 gallons
