  • it is weird that this talk was on 25/01/2004 and on 25/01/2011 was the Egyptian Revolution.

  • Who are you to eliminate religion, what kind of arrogance is this? Let's eliminate atheism....

  • Islams way - strength of evidences

    Democracy - Strength of numbers...

    wats better?

  • Israel and Japan as democracies? In retrospect, Samuel P. Huntington might have given us some complexities to think about. I cannot be happy enough to see genuine freedom take root in the Islamic world, but I can only wonder how far it will be able to spread.

  • And here goes another simplistic remark. Did u know tht many Muslims dont even consider Islam a religion but an ideology or a way of life? So should we eliminate ideologies now? Does tht make sense? Everyone has his/her understanding/ideology. The main prob with Islam today is tht it promotes violence and does not allow people to chose their path once theyr in Islam. This needs to be stopped otherwise let the people decide wht they want.

  • I find the essence of this discussion to be the root of the problem we're facing. Politics shouldn't have anything to do with religion. Religion is at the center of our conversations as of late, and I think it's important that people consider that a very simple way to solve the debate is to eliminate religion. We don't need it anymore as a people, and we shouldn't be afraid to say so.

  • I think we should focus more on creating "REPUBLICS" rather than democracies, per se. And America should hold its tongue in that its government inherently has become and oligarchy at its roots. Huntington did indeed have to watch what he said carefully in order to prevent himself from looking like a fool.

  • very true...

  • poor huntington he wasnt able to generalize like he does in his writings.. because of the people speaking up..
