At the conclusion of the Senate Judiciary Committee hearings to consider the nomination of Eric Holder to be Attorney General, Leahy explained what he thought the hearings revealed about the kind of Attorney General Holder will be, what needs to be done to restore confidence at the Department of Justice, and about Holders answer to Leahys questions about torture techniques like waterboarding.
Some senators had looked at the Holder nomination as the most controversial of Obamas picks for his Cabinet, but the hearings gave Holder a chance to demonstrate his deep experience and quick wit.
