Patna was the home to two of the greatest emperors of India, who ruled over almost entire India and present day Pakistan: The Emperor Chandragupta Maurya and the Great Ashoka. Watch a video chunk from a BBC documentary about the Indian history to know what the Greeks (led by the traveler Megasthenes) had to say about Patna when they first saw it.

P.S. I would personally delete any spam or troll comment or any Indo-Pak youtube abuse. Am sick of it.

  • @ThePseudoBasher I read that the young Chandragupta went to meet Alexander and was very impressed with Alexander.

  • Many people ask who the Mauryas were. A Kshatriya line know as the Mauryas were mentioned in the Mahaparinibbana Sutta of Lord Buddha. Mauryas were one of the Kshatryia clans given Lord Buddha's relics-- thus their great power.

  • @ThePseudoBasher yeah because alexander was scared of magadha empire and ran away after losing to porus

  • Biharis were the ruler of this country,Maurya were great rulers, their territory was the forerunner of the modern of Indian state boundary. How much proficient rulers biharis were its evident from the fact that during patliputra(modern patna) being the capital of erstwhile maurya dynasty indian never become the slave of any other country. I am a proud bihari.

  • WTF!! Alexander never met Chandragupta...Chandragupta was in Magadha(Bihar).

  • what BS they feed people about alexander, alexander most likly never met him, GREEKS use propaganda

  • Wonderful...
