@p71c1 You're right, a race is a race. But beating a 2000 V6 "Impala" down the stretch with a Marauder is nothing to write home about, kind of a cheap shot really. That was my original point.

@gstak07 I think the SS is capable of a little better than mid-15's stock. I've seen many documented road tests of the stock SS that report a 1/4 mile of 14.0-15.0 at around 92 mph. But I think the best virtue of these cars, is that they take a tune very well, because the basic mechanicals are very solid. 14-15 in the quarter is only a starting point. When you look at it that way, the SS is not over rated at all. It was a magic combination, which is why it's so highly revered by GM guys.

@gstak07 it,s not only abouth engine rating but rather where the engine is making it,s power into the powerband.the 5.7 lt1 will produce way more lowend torque than any 4.6 no matter if it's a 4.6 2v or 4v.

The marauder is very slow off the line but is a beast on the highway. because his power isway higher in the powerband
