  • really nice tank!! hey, i am getting a 29 gallon fish tank soon and i was wondering what you think about my stocking plan:

    1 male gourami,

    3 platys OR guppies,

    5 bronze corydoras,

    5 bleeding heart tetras,

    4 hatchetfish,

2 shrimp and 1 snail. what do you think? nice set up? too many fish?

  • @kmscutie132

    Well, thank you!! :)

And, that sounds like a lovely setup.. I always liked having a large variety of fish in my aquariums. Although, you may have a some problems between the Fancy Guppies, the Tetra's, and the Gourami's... I didn't in any of my setups, but I know people who've told me that the Gourami's (Especially if you have more than 2) will try to tear the fins off the Guppies, and the Tetra's CAN tend to be MILDLY aggressive... But I hope you the best!! =)

  • Very nice community tank. My daughter wants a community tank so we are setting up 30 gallon on the bar between kitchen and living room. She doesn't love my Cichlids like I do, too mean/too much work... she says :)

  • @PlanetJanet63 Haha :)

    Well, thank you darlin'.

The tank seen in the video was sold a long time ago (I sold the tank, solid wood stand, and matching hood for $50.. Didn't take long to sell! Haha)

And I just sold my 55 gallon (Same wood look as this, with the matching trim on the tank/hood) for $250, with a $150 Canister filter and all... I just lost interest in the hobby... I spent a fortune on aquariums when I was younger (Around $2,000 just in the 55 gallon) and just lost interest over time.

  • @PlanetJanet63 But, if you like them, and your daughter does as well, then I'd go for it.. I've found myself that Molly's (As much as I like them) are among the hardest community tank fish to keep alive that I ever had, but the marble mollys where gorgeous, in my opinion. I hear they like a little salt in their water (Seasalt), and they just would never stay alive no matter what I'd do.. lol.. A community tank can get really beautiful with a large assortment of fish..

  • @PlanetJanet63

Best of luck to you, and your daughters new setup!! :)

  • thank you! i guess i will go with the platys instead to prevent any problems.

  • Hey Billy! Wish I would have known!! I could never tire of my aquatic life! Necessity for me. Not a hobby anymore

  • @BillySlone Haha nice man. I got my plant for 5$. But i just got a 29gal today. Getting 4angels 3corys and 3 tetras

  • @iJacksFishTanks That damn plant was like 25 bucks at my local pet shop.. lol

I still have it, and stuff.. but it's in my 55 gallon tank in my old bedroom... which I rarely ever go in anymore. lol... All the fishies that was in that tank died a long time ago from Ich I think... but my algae eater is still alive... he keeps the tank from looking like a swamp. lol

    and, thank you! :)
