Hi Zombagi
I'm doing a project on chip removal and I have some problems in defining contact of the tool and workpiece. If it is possible can you please send me an example for this simulation.
Thanks for help !!!

HI, I'm interested in solving 3d orthogonal cutting but have a lot of problems in setting the parameters. can i have your original file as references.my email masz12@yahoo.com. thank you.

@Zombagi: Hi, I am doing my project work on simulation of 2D cutting, I am not able to get the chip separated. I have given the plastic hardening JC and shear failure properties as you have mentioned. I have used master -slave contact, considering work piece as a slave(node based surface),coeff of friction as 0.1(kinematic method) & siding formulation as small sliding....Please help me in this regard..
@Zombagi.Thanx for ur reply. Can we partition the chip in the workpiece using planes in 2D also. Pls give me ur valuable suggestion.

Hi its a gr8 work. I m doing my research in Anna University India. I m also working on ABAQUS on chip separation. Can u help me of how you partitioned workpiece in
3d . Also can u help me how to assign section in 3d model space.

@madhu9476 Simple! Just create points on your workpiece edges and partition it using planes!
